Membership Approves Position Statement on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in Academic Nursing During the business meeting of AACN’s Spring Annual Meeting (held March 20, 2017 in Washington, DC), an overwhelming majority of members in attendance voted to adopt the Position Statement on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in Academic Nursing.
AACN Strongly Opposes President's 2018 Budget Blueprint President Trump released his FY 2018 America First - A Budget Blueprint to Make America Great Again. The budget proposes wide sweeping and devastating cuts to programs that ensure health across the nation. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) strongly opposes these cuts and warns both the Administration and Congress that decreasing federal dollars by this magnitude will threaten the lives and livelihood of millions of Americans.

For over 50 years, Title VIII programs have helped provide a direct response to the call for nursing services across America. This legislation would reauthorize the Nursing Workforce Development Programs (Title VIII of the Public Health Service Act) through Fiscal Year 2022 and aligns them with current trends in the profession.
