Learn More about the Work Underway to Revise the
Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for
Professional Nursing Practice
Meeting Highlights:
Stakeholders will be provided the opportunity to review and provide feedback regarding the draft Baccalaureate Essentials document including the end-of-program competencies for baccalaureate nursing education. AACN members, faculty, students, practicing nurses, and representatives of other healthcare and education organizations are invited to attend. A draft document will be posted on the AACN website by August 1, 2007. It is highly recommended that participants review the document prior to attending the meetings.
Meeting Schedule:
Day One – 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.: Registration and Continental Breakfast
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Opportunity to learn about the revised document and to give feedback on the end-of-program competencies for baccalaureate nursing education. Dr. Patricia Martin, Chair of the Task Force on the Revision of the Essentials for Baccalaureate Nursing Education, will present an overview of the draft document and the work of the task force.
Day Two – 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.: Continental Breakfast
8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Opportunity to give feedback on clinical education for baccalaureate nursing and on quality indicators for baccalaureate nursing programs.
