Information on the 3-Day Maintenance Period
NursingCAS will be closed for a 3-day maintenance period on August 7-9, 2012. This 3-day downtime will allow for some of the proposed enhancements to be implemented and minimize service disruption. No deadlines or applicants will be impacted. Schools will not need to change any program deadlines and applicants will not need to go through the “re-applicant” process. During the 3-day maintenance period applicants will not be able to log into their application and new applicants will not be able to create an account. On August 10, 2012, applicants can log into their NursingCAS application with the same user name and password. Please review the FAQs below and if you have other questions contact Caroline Allen, AACN’s NursingCAS Manager, at 202-463-6930, ext. 258 or email@example.com.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. How will this impact my applicants?
This will not impact your applicants. All applicants in the system prior to August 7 will still be in the system after August 9 when the application re-opens.
2. Has NursingCAS notified applicants about the maintenance period?
Yes. NursingCAS has notifed applicants of the maintenance period, and information is posted online - http://www.nursingcas.org/August-2012-Maintenance.php.
3. Will this impact my deadlines?
No. Schools will not need to change any program deadlines. Any programs that are posted on the application now with a deadline after August 9 will still be posted when the application is open again on August 10.
4. How will this impact the data dictionary?
There will be minor changes to the data dictionary.
5. When will the updated data dictionary be available?
It will be available soon. Please contact WebAdMIT Support at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 716-636-7777, option 7 for details.
6. Will I log into a different WebAdMIT portal to view my applicants who apply after August 9, 2012?
No. You will log into the same WebAdMIT portal to view applicants who applied between August 15, 2011 and August 7, 2012 and any applicants who apply after August 10, 2012 and during the 2012 - 2013 cycle.
7. How will I hide applicant pools or programs that have past deadlines from view in my WebAdMIT portal?
If you no longer need to view applicants to a particular program in WebAdMIT because you are done reviewing for that program, then you can go into your Account and click on Edit My Account and then under Programs check off the Programs you no longer wish to view in your portal.
8. How will I distinguish between applicant pools from this current cycle to next cycle if I am logging into the same WebAdMIT portal to view all of these applicants?
No, two programs can have the same name. So, for example if you have a program currently named "BSN Fall Entry" then when this program is opened up on the application for the next cycle, it should be named differently and more specifically, for example "BSN Fall Entry 2013". In order to differentiate between the two applicant pools for those programs. And as previously mentioned, you can hide program designations from your view if you no longer wish to view them in your portal.
9. Will applicants be able to log into their application during August 7 - 9?
No. On August 10, they will be able to log back into their application with the same user name and password.
10. Can new applicants create an account during August 7 - 9?
No. New applicants cannot create an account during this time, however on August 10, they will be able to create an account.
11. Will WebAdMIT be accessible during August 7 - 9?
12. Will transcripts be processed during August 7 - 9?
No. Document processing and verification will resume on August 10.
