Faculty Position

The Division of Nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University invites applications for a full-time faculty position for the Fall, 2008.
Positions:  Medical-Surgical/Mental Health Nursing.
Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom and clinical teaching
  2. Coordination of clinical experiences
  3. Faculty expected to participate in department, university, and community activities
  4. Student advisement

Qualifications:

  1. Masters in Nursing is required, Doctorate preferred
  2. Eligibility for licensure in Indiana
  3. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching
  4. Current clinical competence and commitment to evidenced-based practice
  5. Evidence of scholarly activity
  6. Strong commitment to the integration of faith with teaching
  7. The successful candidate will be comfortable with evangelical theology in the Wesleyan-Arminian tradition

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs (CAS) will review the faculty profile, references, and transcripts selecting candidates whose qualifications match existing needs. These profiles are then sent to the appropriate Division Chairperson. The Division reviews the applications and recommends individuals for an onsite interview. Contingent upon approval in each step of the process, selected candidates will:

  1. Receive an invitation to interview.
  2. Come to campus for a day of interview that includes:
              - University President, Dr. Henry Smith
              - Vice President and Academic Dean for the College of Arts and Sciences,
                 Dr. Bud Bence
              - Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, College of Arts and Sciences,
                 Dr. Connie D. Lightfoot
              - Search Committee
              - Division Faculty
              - Dean of the Chapel
              - Representative from the Division of Religion & Philosophy

  3. Candidates will teach a class observed by the search committee.
  4. Be notified of the University’s decision to offer a contract or not.
  5. All candidates will be notified of their status throughout the process.
