nominations and applications for the Piedmont Healthcare
Endowed Chair in Nursing. Piedmont Healthcare’s
endowment gift of $2.85 million will permit the College of Nursing
to further its mission and actualize its strategic plans to establish
doctoral programs in nursing.
The College of Nursing is a dynamic college within Mercer University,
and is located in a beautiful facility on a 300 acre, wooded campus
in Atlanta. Mercer University's traditional campus is located
approximately 100 miles south of Atlanta in Macon, Georgia. The
College of Nursing enjoys affiliations with most of the health
care agencies within a 50 mile radius of the campus.
The successful candidate will have an integral role in establishing
the proposed PhD in nursing and DNP programs, augmenting the research
initiatives of the College of Nursing and the University, teaching,
and generating research leading to grant funding.
Required qualifications: Earned doctorate in
nursing or related discipline (at least one graduate degree must
be in nursing). Graduation from an accredited college/university.
Credentials that merit appointment at the rank of full Professor.
A distinguished record of sustained scholarly accomplishments
(professional, research, and teaching). Commitment to make positive
contributions to the College/University. Must hold or be eligible
for an unencumbered Georgia RN license.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in online
course development, teaching, and scholarship.
