Chairperson, Adult Health and
Gerontological Nursing
Rush University College of Nursing

of Chairperson of the Department of Adult Health and Gerontological
Nursing with a specific focus on adult and older adult health,
and chronic care management. With 4 graduate programs, 2 of which
are nationally ranked in the top 10, the Department of Adult Health
and Gerontological Nursing is positioned as a model of innovation
and collaboration. Faculty provide national leadership in their
specialties and are committed to creating education, research
and practice models that improve care of adults as they age. Rush
is a nationally recognized leader in nursing education, research,
and practice and offers educational programs from prelicensure
through the DNP and PhD.
The Department is committed to excellence in interdisciplinary
adult and geriatric nursing education, research, and practice
and the preparation of adult and geriatric nursing faculty, researchers,
and practitioners who are prepared to meet the health care needs
of racially and ethnically diverse populations. Located in the
heart of Chicago, Rush University College of Nursing is integral
to the mission of Rush University Medical center, one of the nation's
leading academic health care facilities.
The Department Chairperson is responsible for mentoring
faculty toward excellence in education, research and clinical
scholarship. The Chairperson is expected to champion the College
vision of developing a diverse student body and faculty to meet
health care needs in the 21st century. We welcome applications
from leaders in adult health and gerontology who have a research
doctorate, a strong record of scholarship and mentorship, have
a sustained program of research or scholarship, and are able to
meet rank criteria for Professor.
