Associate Director of Academics

Shenandoah University Division of Nursing is pleased to invite nominations and/or applications for the position:

Associate Director of Academics

The Associate Director for Academics has the primary responsibility for maintaining academic integrity of all nursing education programs consistent with the overall strategic plan and objectives of the Division of Nursing and the University. Through collaboration with faculty, the Associate Director for Academics will develop, implement, and evaluate curricula and ensure the daily operation of academic programs. The person appointed will work closely with the Director and Associate Director of Advising, Retention, and Progression as well as the Associate Director of Student Affairs. Qualifications include:

  1. Available for twelve month appointment beginning August 16, 2009.
  2. Master of Science in Nursing and Doctorate in Nursing or related field required.
  3. Experience with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  4. Knowledge of current trends in nursing curricula both undergraduate and graduate.
  5. Nursing education administration or leadership experience preferred.
  6. Dynamic, creative, innovative perspectives.
  7. Minimum of five years teaching experience on the graduate and/or undergraduate level.
  8. Strong skills in written, oral and interpersonal communication, group process, conflict resolution, and caring behaviors.
