Dean
The Nursing Dean Search Committee for Mercer University invites inquiries for the next visionary leader of Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University! The Dean for the College reports directly to the Provost and works collaboratively with all Mercer University academic colleges and schools. Within the College of Nursing, the Dean provides leadership to enhance and promote existing programs, to develop innovative new programs, and to recruit highly qualified students and faculty. The Dean is also responsible for facilitating the achievement of an in depth ten-year strategic plan that coincides directly with goals of the University.
The successful candidate will be nationally recognized with demonstrated leadership in teaching, research, and service. A record of scholarly activity, a minimum of five years of substantial administrative experience, and command of undergraduate and graduate program development and implementation is required. Additional qualifications include:

Earned doctorate (Ph.D., DNSc, or equivalent) in nursing or a related discipline from an accredited university/college;

Master's degree in nursing, if doctorate is not in nursing;

Registered Nurse licensure, or eligibility for unencumbered licensure, in the state of Georgia;

Scholarly activity commensurate with appointment as a tenured Professor;

Evidence of successful teaching, scholarship, and service;

Proven ability to maintain and monitor fiscal resources, develop and interpret financial data/plans, and secure funding to support educational initiatives; and

Proven ability to work in partnership with Associate Deans in the implementation of undergraduate and graduate programs.
