Recruitment Activities

  1. Recruitment Initiative: Mailing to guidance counselors/school-to-career counselors in middle and high schools.
    Goal to provide information about programs and activities provided by the Nursing Career Center.

    Evaluation of effectiveness: Within 2 weeks received over 15 requests for presentations.

  2. Recruitment Initiative: Middle and High school presentations.
    Goal to provide career information

    Evaluation of effectiveness: 50 presentations were made reaching a total of over 5500 students.

  3. Recruitment Initiative: Guidance Counselor/School to Career Coordinator Breakfast meetings.
    Goal to provide career information and explain mission and purpose of Nursing Career Center.


    Evaluation of effectiveness: 10 breakfast meetings were held with over 100 counselors and 60 NCCC volunteers plus host Hospital staff participating.

  4. Recruitment Initiative: Shadowing Experiences
    Goal to provide exposure to nursing as a career.


    Evaluation of effectiveness: 8 high schools participated with a total of 35 students.

  5. Recruitment Initiative: Distribution of informational materials.
    Goal to disseminate information about nursing, RN programs in the state, financial aid, etc.


    Evaluation of effectiveness: NCCC is becoming a known entity. Increasing number of phone calls to NCCC for advice and information.

  6. Recruitment Initiative: Educational counseling for LPNs and CNAs
    Goal to encourage career mobility


    Evaluation of effectiveness: 2 programs have been held for LPNs and 7 for CNAs.
