Recruitment initiatives aimed at:

• Development and distribution to statewide high schools and health care institutions (including Health Care Association of Hawaii and Hawaii Nurses Association and all consortium members) of video to recruit underrepresented groups into nursing.
• Purchase and distribution of "What do nurses do" coloring sheets to primary grades in schools in Hawaii in collaboration with the Hawaii AHEC.

Partners/Funders:
Consortium members for the planning of video production and distribution plans for both items. The video was produced in collaboration with a medical center in Hawaii.

Message:
"Nursing - Your Future"- title and theme for the video.
"What do nurses do?" - title and theme for the coloring sheet.

Evaluation of effectiveness:
We've just started distribution. Interest has been high in receiving the video and initial feedback from nursing groups and the Health Care Association of Hawaii and our consortium has been very positive.

Lessons learned:
Video production takes much longer than ever expected. The results are well worth the effort.
