Minority Student Weekend, University recruitment trips, School of Nursing Ambassador program

Timeframe/Target population:
Ongoing/high school juniors and seniors, transfer students, minority students. Is there an initiative that is designed for grade school students (see comments below under evaluation of effectiveness).

Partners/Funders:
Hospitals help with scholarships; paid recruiters from colleges.

Evaluation of effectiveness:
LOW yield. Real recruiting is expensive and we don't have money to really target potential groups as we would like. How do you measure grade school recruiting results?

Lessons learned:

  • Offer a good program that has a good reputation in the community.
  • Graduates/former students are probably the best messengers.
