Train-the-Trainer Program for Undergraduate and Graduate Nursing Faculty

(Please note that you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these documents.)

To date, four ELNEC-Graduate courses have been held in Pasadena, California. A grand total of 300 graduate faculty, representing all 50 states and 278 graduate nursing programs across the country have attended.

The course was funded by a grant from the National Cancer Institute (Read the press release). This funding was used to improve end-of-life nursing care and education through faculty development efforts that will reach graduate nursing programs in each of the 50 United States. This training will equip faculty with the knowledge and resources to share this new expertise with their graduate nursing students. At the conclusion of these 4 training sessions, 63% of the nation's graduate nursing schools have an ELNEC trainer on their faculty. The remaining 37% of graduate schools will be reached indirectly through dissemination efforts. The ELNEC-Graduate faculty members have a very unique opportunity and privilege to equip the future's advanced practice nurses with professional training to care for those facing end-of-life/palliative care issues.
