Lessons Learned/Advice to Schools

1. Gerontology nursing, when taught from a life-course perspective, speaks to undergraduates. It helps them understand that the choices they make in their younger years have considerable influence on their aging processes.

2. Nursing students are particularly inspired to learn gerontology from instructors who are affiliated with professions separate than nursing, and who are among the under-forty-year-old set.
