The
hospital has fully funded an accelerated baccalaureate program
for students with a bachelor's degree in another field. Between
40-45 students will be admitted each year for five years with
the first graduating class expected in February 2004. The
hospital will seek grant funding to sustain the program at
the end of the five-year commitment.

BSN
nurses are hired in clinical research roles including those
in our protocol office in the cancer program. The clinics
are staffed with nurse practitioners from all disciplines.
BSN nurses are utilized in our transplant programs to coordinate
the care of patients awaiting a transplant. The cancer program
also utilizes BSN nurses to coordinate the care of newly diagnosed
cancer patients. These nurses coordinate the multidisciplinary
team that will care for the patient.
