The Jefferson School of Nursing, part of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, seeks an Associate Dean of Research.

Jefferson School of Nursing (JSN) has secured the commitment and resources necessary to support research initiatives and bring the research program to the next level in becoming a more research-engaged school of nursing.  This is an opportunity to build the research function.  The Associate Dean, Research provides oversight for all aspects of JSNs research mission to ensure congruence between the mission of JSN and Thomas Jefferson University and the research goals of the school.  The role will provide creative leadership to promote growth and innovation in faculty scholarship and research which will advance the school's research mission. The Associate Dean, Research will oversee all funding activities and act as the liaison to external funding sources for research. The role will create an atmosphere at JSN that builds faculty engagement and supports research teams across the academic divisions of the university. This position provides administrative support for a research agenda that supports and mentors the development of faculty research and scholarship and provides an ongoing analysis of JSN's grants portfolio, research agenda and scholarly activities.

The role requires a PhD in nursing or a related field, a minimum of at least five years of academic experience at the rank of Associate Professor, and a demonstrated record of funded research and publications.  Research funding currently secured or in the pipeline preferred.  This role will be looked to as the key builder and shaper of JSN's research function and will enhance the synergy between JSN and the partner schools and hospital of Thomas Jefferson University and other affiliates.
