Position Summary

The Bouvé College of Health Sciences Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Professor [Associate/Full] provides leadership and overall administration of the College’s graduate programs and graduate student affairs. The Associate Dean has specific responsibility for graduate student recruitment, graduate program development, administration of admission processes, development of policies and procedures, interdisciplinary initiatives, and student awards. The Associate Dean collaborates with and advises the College Dean as a member of the Dean’s Leadership Team (DLT) in planning efforts and the development and management of the College. As a member of the DLT, the Associate Dean participates in developing and growing graduate programs, coordinating operations, and allocating resources.. The associate dean plays an integral role in strategic planning for the College.


Candidates for the position must have an earned PhD or appropriate doctoral degree and extensive administrative experience in academia, preferably as a department chair or unit director. Candidates must possess excellent writing and speaking skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent knowledge of budgetary procedures and successful management of budgets, experience with research and accreditation processes, and knowledge of medical and health community structures. Candidates must have a defined area of scholarship and a solid record of publications, presentations and grants. The candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment in the appropriate department of the College based on his/her record of teaching, service, and scholarly activity. Excellent technology skills are needed, and experience with online, hybrid, and distance program planning and implementation is highly desirable.
