Clinical-track Faculty Opening

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (SN) is seeking applicants for a clinical track faculty position with expertise in primary care – population/community health nursing in a new educational approach to integrate education, practice and research. This exciting position requires innovative thinking and actualizing a model that fosters integration of faculty from the SN with our colleagues at the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS). This faculty role is expected to lead and foster scholarship development, delivery of high quality of care and innovations with students, faculty, staff and colleagues.
The position is expected to be filled as early as January, 2013. We are soliciting applications from developing to established scholars who are visionary leaders in primary care, population health, and community health, and able to collaborate and partner with experts to develop a new model for the education of students in population-based care. The successful applicant will have demonstrated ability to lead initiatives that align nursing’s contribution with the rapidly changing needs in primary care, population health and community health.

Qualifications (dependent on market title):
- Master’s degree is required, doctorate preferred in nursing or highly related field
- A current Michigan nursing license required.
- Track record that exemplifies inter-professional collaboration, a deep understanding of social determinants of health, and a commitment to addressing health disparities; recent clinical experience in primary care, population health, and community health nursing.
