The incumbent is responsible for providing academic teaching and support to the Director of the MEPN Program, the pre-licensure year of a three year Master’s degree program. MEPN admits students who have a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing field of study.

The incumbent is responsible for planning, management, and evaluation of all aspects of the MEPN program and serves as the Co-chair of the MEPN Faculty-of Record Committee

Required Qualifications

BRN Required; Two years’ experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs; Active and clear Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing; A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university, including course work in nursing, education or administration; One year's continuous experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of teaching excellence, experience in patient care, and involvement in other scholarly and/or other creative activities; a minimum of three years teaching experience; Demonstrated record of success leading, supervising and/or working with diverse and multicultural, multi-disciplinary groups; Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products, other database software; Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to details; Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with multiple organizational levels; Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and follow through on day to day tasks, short- and long-term projects; Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal abilities. Experience teaching Medical-Surgical/Adult-Gerontological Nursing; Nursing Fundamentals; Psych/Mental Health Nursing; or Effective Communication; Multilingual skills.
