Nontenure-track assistant professor

The George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services, School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, Term Assistant Professor of Nursing position with an emphasis on nursing practice. We seek talented and innovative scholars who are actively engaged in clinical and evidence-based practice to teach across all levels of the nursing program with an emphasis on clinical practice.

Responsibilities

Teaching in the nursing curriculum including undergraduate and graduate programs: bachelor’s of science in nursing, master’s of science in nursing, and doctorate in nursing practice; student advising; and service to the school, college, university, and community.

Required Qualifications

Registered nurse with a doctorate in nursing (DNP, DNS or Ph.D.) and demonstrated advanced practice experience.

Desired Qualifications

Five or more years of advanced practice experience; and practice and/or experience in acute/critical care, chronic illness and disability, or gerontology, are particularly desirable;
Clinical and academic experiences with underserved/vulnerable populations, interdisciplinary practice, and cultural competency; and
Experience in clinical simulation.
