Adult Nurse Practitioner

The Department of Nursing at James Madison University (JMU) is pleased to announce the expansion of our BSN program and the initiation of our Doctor of Nursing Practice program.  We invite applications for a faculty position in the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program beginning August 2013. JMU is a comprehensive state university offering 69 undergraduate programs, 31 master’s programs and 7 doctoral programs to more than 19,000 students. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, 2 hours from both Washington D.C. and Richmond, VA, JMU continues to be recognized by the U.S. News and World Report as the finest master’s level public university in the South and one of the top three universities among private and public universities. Duties and responsibilities include clinical and classroom and practicum at the MSN and possibly BSN and DNP program levels; professional, departmental and university service and scholarship are additional expectations. 9/10 month tenure track position at rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (with doctorate) or 9/10 month rotating term clinical appointment as Lecturer or Instructor rank for faculty with MSN degree.

Qualifications include three or more years of clinical practice experience. MSN and certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner is required. Doctorate and certification in area of specialty strongly preferred.  Other requirements include RN registration and eligibility for Virginia license.  Rank and salary shall be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
