Full-time faculty positions- nurse anesthesia

National University (NU) is the second-largest, private, nonprofit institution of higher learning in California. Founded in 1971, NU consists of five schools and one college, including the Schools of Business and Management; Education; Engineering, Technology and Media; Health and Human Services; Professional Studies; and the College of Letters and Sciences. NU campuses are located throughout California and Nevada.

POSITIONS:  Graduate faculty position with specialization in Nurse Anesthesia

LOCATIONS:  Fresno, California

An earned MS in Nursing, Nurse Anesthesia, or related science, two years of recent clinical experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), and current certification as a CRNA by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).  The candidate should have a passion for education within Nurse Anesthesia and embrace the principles of evidence based practice, innovation, and change.  Potential to develop and maintain a research agenda. Candidates should also demonstrate commitment to achieving exceptional student learning at the graduate level, participation in shared faculty governance, and commitment the Department's vision/mission to advance health worldwide through community engagement and partnerships.


An earned doctoral degree in a related specialty and prior experience in research and teaching in Nurse Anesthesia.  The successful candidate without a doctoral degree will be expected to obtain a doctoral degree within a specified timeline.


Teach graduate level Nurse Anesthesia didactic, clinical, and high fidelity simulation courses. Facilitate student learning to achieve course learning outcomes; provide academic leadership to adjunct faculty in specialization; lead continuous quality improvement of curriculum and teaching effectiveness; develop and maintain a research agenda as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications; advise graduate students; serve on Department, School, and University committees. 


Commensurate with experience and academic rank.


Candidates must submit: Letter of application, professional resume, evidence of or eligible for a current and unencumbered CA Registered Nursing license, current certification as a CRNA by the (NBCRNA), and three references. (Employment is contingent upon proof of the legal right to work in the United States. This proof must be provided prior to employment at the University. An appointment is not final until proof is provided.)
