Faculty vacancies

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Valdosta State University invites individuals seeking faculty positions in nursing and exercise physiology. Positions to be filled for the 2013-2014 academic year include:

  • Three 10-month tenure track position in Nursing - positions consist of didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, faculty service, professional practice, and scholarship.
  • One 12-month tenure track position in Nursing – position requires certification as a nurse practitioner and consists of didactic and clinical teaching at the undergraduate levels, faculty service, professional service and scholarship.

Required qualifications for nursing positions include a master’s degree in nursing with specialization in adult health, community health, maternal child, or mental health nursing, and demonstrated clinical nursing experience. Qualified applicants will hold the terminal degree or be matriculated in a doctoral program, with expectations for program completion within two years. Preferred applicants will have experience teaching in a baccalaureate or master’s degree in nursing program and an established program of scholarship and/or faculty clinical practice. 

Valdosta State University is a regional university in South Georgia serving 13,000 students.  The College of Nursing and Health Sciences houses disciplines in nursing, exercise physiology, athletic training, nutrition, and dental hygiene.  Nursing Academic programs include the basic BSN program, mobility programs for RN’s leading to the BSN and the MSN, and the basic MSN programs. The College has a BSN program for second degree students, new master’s curricula in advanced practice nursing (Adult/Geriatric, Family Psychiatric Mental Health), the Clinical Nurse Leader and a certificate in nursing education.
