The School of Nursing at Western Carolina University (WCU) invites applications to fill multiple nursing faculty positions in its pre-licensure programs. Candidates interested in an academic career with a focus on teaching, service, and scholarly pursuit are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will have an enthusiasm for nursing, an interest in scholarship and education and the flexibility to teach in several areas of the curriculum. Responsibilities include service on committees and participation in official activities of the School, College and University. Tenure track option is for the qualified candidate.
The School of Nursing is located in two brand new state-of-the-art buildings in Cullowhee and Asheville, NC. The main campus supports the traditional BSN program while the Asheville location houses the Accelerated BSN and graduate nursing programs. The School of Nursing is accredited through Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Requirements: Master of Nursing required; Doctoral Degree in nursing (PhD) or a related field, or significant progress toward doctoral degree required; eligibility for RN licensure in NC; two years teaching experience in an academic setting or equivalent; and two years prior experience in direct patient care as an RN.
Final candidates for employment are subject to a criminal background check. Proper documentation of identity and employability are required at the time of employment.
