Position Title: Ranked Faculty
Full/Part-Time: Full-time, 9-month contract       
Status Range: Exempt
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Undergraduate Nursing Program

This is a full-time (9-month) ranked faculty position is in the College of Health & Education, School of Nursing. The faculty member is expected to teach assigned courses specific to his/her area of expertise plus those negotiated as required by the curriculum. In addition, faculty members are expected to fulfill responsibilities in advising, scholarship, and community service as delineated in the Husson University Faculty Handbook. Participation in evaluative processes and departmental affairs may require a campus presence from the last two weeks in August through May. The faculty member is expected to adhere to the Husson University Faculty Handbook policies for promotion and multiple-year contract review.

required qualifications

Education: Earned doctorate in nursing or related field preferred; Masters degree in nursing required. Candidates nearing completion of their doctoral degree will be considered.

Licensure: Maine RN license or eligibility

Experience: Minimum of three years of documented college/university-level teaching preferred; Minimum of three years of clinical experience preferred; The faculty must have documented expertise in his or her area(s) of teaching responsibility.

resPonsibilities

Teaching: All nursing faculty carry primary responsibility for 36 contact hours/year.

Scholarship and Professional Activity: All nursing faculty are expected to maintain currency within their professional areas of expertise and to participate in scholarly activities as defined by the Faculty Handbook. Up to one day per workweek may be negotiated for professional consultation, research, or clinical practice.

Service: All nursing faculty members are expected to actively participate in Program and School meetings, retreats, committees, and activities (Open House, Convocation, and/or student recruitment projects) as well as serve on committees within the School, College, and/or University.

Student Advising: All nursing faculty maintain student office hours and advise nursing students each year, as assigned, following the policies and procedures documented in the Husson Faculty Advising Manual.
