Marymount University invites applications and nominations for the Dean, Malek School of Health Professions. Located just outside Washington, DC, in Arlington, Virginia, Marymount is a comprehensive, coeducational Catholic university that combines a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences with career preparation and professional development. With strong enrollment, solid finances and ongoing capital improvements, Marymount is poised for continued growth.

The Malek School of Health Professions – with a budget of $4.1 million, 53 full-time and adjunct faculty and 49 administrative, clinical, lab and educational staff – is a recognized leader in the education of skilled, compassionate health care professionals. More than one-sixth of Marymount’s students – approximately 600 men and women – are enrolled in the School’s undergraduate and graduate programs in three departments: Health and Human Performance, Nursing and Physical Therapy.

The School offers the B.S. in Health Sciences and the B.S.N. as a traditional 4-year program, accelerated second-degree programs, and a hybrid R.N. to B.S.N. program. At the graduate level, the School offers the M.S. in Health Promotion Management, M.S.N. in Family Nurse Practitioner, and two doctoral programs: the clinical Doctor of Physical Therapy and the Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Qualifications for the next dean include: an earned doctoral degree in a discipline represented within the School or a related discipline; at least five years of administrative experience at the level of department chair or higher; a student-centered and faculty-driven leadership style; a strong interest in fundraising and revenue development; a desire for collaborative leadership, a shared vision and open communication; and, an understanding of, and commitment to, Marymount’s mission, vision and values.
