The University of West Georgia, located just west of Atlanta and named by The Princeton Review as one of the Best Southeastern Colleges and one of America’s Best Value Colleges, seeks an innovative leader and visionary committed to caring science who will embody and continue the mission, vision and philosophy of the School of Nursing.
The School exemplifies academic excellence in a caring environment and provides quality undergraduate and graduate education through traditional BSN, RN-BSN, MSN (including CNL), and EdD programs. The Dean will guide the School in continuing its leadership in the scholarship of teaching and learning and promoting quality caring in health care and educational systems.
The Dean serves as the chief operating and academic officer for the School and travels between campuses to administer its educational programs and research activities. The $21.5 million Nursing Education building, which opened in 2013, won the University System of Georgia’s Innovation Award for Design and Technology as the first in the state to incorporate a technologically-enhanced, problem-based, team-oriented classrooms and state-of- the-art simulation labs. The new Newnan Center, slated for completion in 2015, will extend the classroom and simulation capabilities found at the Carrollton campus.
