The faculty and staff of the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invite applications for the position of Academic Chair for the Division of Adult and Geriatric Health. Qualified individuals will demonstrate respect for the diversity of all people and their contributions, and possess skills in collaboration, leadership, and mentoring. While the base tenured faculty position is for nine months, the administrative appointment is for twelve. Division chairs help shape and fulfill the research, teaching, and service missions of the School and report directly to Kristen M. Swanson, Dean and Alumni Distinguished Professor.

Responsibilities include participation in school-wide planning and policy development as a member of the Dean’s Cabinet. Division Chairs are responsible for mentoring and evaluating faculty and staff, hiring clinical faculty, and assuring the missions of the School are met through the efforts of Division faculty and staff.

Requirements include an earned doctorate, eligibility for licensure as an RN in North Carolina, and evidence of scholarship sufficient to qualify for a tenured appointment at the associate or full professor level. Evidence of successful leadership and/or administrative experience is preferred. The School offers undergraduate through post-doctoral programs of study as well as lifelong learning opportunities.
