In this role, the Assistant Dean for Generalist Education in the College of Nursing includes the pre- and post-licensure Clinical Nurse Leader programs that lead to the Master of Science in Nursing. The Assistant Dean also holds a dual reporting relationship to the Executive Associate Dean and the Dean of the College of Nursing to actualize the mission, vision and values of the College, University and Medical Center. The faculty portion of this role will be negotiated, based on the needs of the College of Nursing, as well as your expertise and interest.


  • Graduate degree in nursing and an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field
  • Current IL RN license 
  • 2 years of experience in clinical nursing practice
  • Eligibility for senior faculty rank
  • National Specialty Certification, as appropriate
  • Evidence of administrative responsibility, project and/or program development
  • Strong record of excellence in teaching
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, networking and relationship building skills
