Nursing Department Director
Methodist University seeks an accomplished nursing professional to lead the University in the development of a new BSN program. This individual will be responsible for all of the planning associated with the preparation for application to the NC State Board of Nursing for a new BSN program at Methodist University. Concurrently, the Director will be planning for the program’s application for CCNE accreditation. The Nursing Director will report directly to the Dean of the School of Science and Human Development. This is a tenure-track, 12-month position.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the leadership in education and administration that will be necessary to develop an excellent nursing program from its inception. Building on the nationally recognized success of Methodist University’s Physician Assistant Program, the Nursing Director will be expected to develop a dynamic and innovative BSN curriculum.
Additional qualifications include:

Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution; terminal degree preferred

Demonstrated nursing education and administration experience

Strong skills in writing and interpersonal communication

Registered Nurse licensure in North Carolina or eligibility for unencumbered licensure

Availability to begin employment in fall 2009
