Nursing Faculty Position

Shenandoah University’s CCNE accredited Division of Nursing is pleased to invite applications for the following full-time position for August 2009. The Division of Nursing offers education at the undergraduate and graduate levels with campuses in Winchester and Leesburg, Virginia.

Full-Time Nursing Faculty:  This is a full-time, nine-month faculty appointment, with open rank; available for a qualified candidate with teaching experience in maternal-child health, women’s health, community health, and/or generalist practice. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited institution. Requirements include experience of 3-5 years teaching at baccalaureate level or above in higher education.  Advanced Practice Nurses or DNPs are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, as well as an ability to create a learning environment through classroom teaching and use of technology.  Collaboration and teamwork are essential in this role.  The selected candidate may be assigned to teach at the Health Professions Campus in Winchester, Virginia and/or the Northern Virginia Campus in Leesburg, VA.

The Nursing faculty consists of 22 full time caring and student-focused faculty members.  There are 300 students in the BSN, MSN (family nurse practitioner, Psychiatric-Mental Health nurse practitioner, midwifery, health systems management), and DNP degree programs.  For more information, please visit our web site at http://www.su.edu.
