Faculty Positions

The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Department of Nursing Education seeks applications for four (4) faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, or Associate professor level to join our energetic, creative faculty and growing programs. Positions are open in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program, Master of Science in Nursing Program, and Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have teaching experience and evidence of research and scholarship. The successful candidate hired at the Assistant/Associate level will have an earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field. ABD’s will be considered for an appointment at the rank of Instructor only.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who have teaching, clinical, or simulation lab experience in areas including, but not limited to, primary care, adult or family nurse practitioner, obstetrics, pediatrics, medical surgery, mental health, health policy, and quality management. Demonstrated use of and a commitment to technology and web-based teaching is also preferred.

These are 12-month positions. Rank, salary, and employment in either a tenure or non-tenure track faculty position will be commensurate with experience. Review of applications will begin July 1, 2009, and continue until the position is filled.
