Types of Testing Sites
CNC offers computer-based testing for the CNL certification exam. Candidates have two types of exam sites where they can take the test:
1. Onsite at the candidate’s school of nursing - Exam Sites at Eligible CNL Education Programs.
NOTE: Program Directors are responsible for:
- Setting the testing date within the testing period. Complete the Site Registration Form and review the Exam Site Registration Guidelines.
- Completing the School Verification Form if the school of nursing is not listed as an Eligible CNL Education Program.
2. Administered at a SMT testing center if the school of nursing exam site is not conveniently located.

NOTE: All fees are subject to change and are non-refundable. Candidates may not retest during the same testing period. Applications must be submitted online by the deadline. There are no exceptions. Access to the exam will be denied if payment has not cleared at least 5 business days prior to the beginning of the testing period.
