The initial CNL certification is granted for a period of five years. Certification must be renewed prior to the expiration date on one’s certificate. Submission one month prior to the expiration date is highly recommended. Certification renewal assures the public that the certified CNL continues to maintain current and relevant knowledge of the CNL role. NOTE: Retesting is not required. A CNL job title not required for renewal.
