Regulatory Issues in Distance Education: How Did We Get Here and Where Are We Going?
Nursing education was an early adopter of online instruction and has used it effectively to educate students, expand faculty capacity, and increase student enrollments to meet the needs of the public. Relatively recent national and state regulatory developments have been confusing, contradictory, and frustrating to many nursing programs, not to mention higher education in general. Gain a better sense of the scope and context of current regulatory problems surrounding distance education across the country, efforts to address challenges, and possible outcomes.
