Twelve ELNEC trainers have just been chosen as award winners for their commitment to improve palliative care in their institution and throughout their community. These trainers represent seven states (AL, CA, KS, NY, OK, TX, VA) and two international countries (Saudi Arabia and Germany). They are staff nurses, teachers, and administrators who work in oncology, high-risk obstetrics, critical care, palliative care, and with veterans. Beyond the Final Breath: A Bathing and Honoring Practice
ELNEC trainers, Debra Rodgers and Beth Calmes have developed a protocol to provide compassionate, respectful care for patients after they have died and to their families. Their work has recently been published in Nursing Administration Quarterly, and is entitled, “Creating National Standards From the Point of Care" Vol 38, No 1, pp 86-92. ELNEC Pins Available to ELNEC Trainers
Each ELNEC curricula are updated annually. Trainers are expected to teach from ELNEC curriculum that is not older than 3 years old. To order a new ELNEC CD, click here.
