Preparing Nurses for the Challenges of the Future

Join AACN in Washington, DC for our 2011 Fall Semiannual Meeting. Attendees have the opportunity to share ideas with other nursing academic administrators. Sessions highlight issues of particular concern to nursing education leaders across settings and levels of programs. Assistant deans/directors are invited to attend along with their respective dean/director to develop leadership skills and to network with colleagues.

The deadline for early registration is October 7, 2011.  Late fees will apply to registrations received after October 7. Associate/assistant deans will not be able to register until after the dean has registered. Email messages confirming registration for this meeting will be sent to all participants. Registration is open only to the primary Dean/Chair/Director of AACN-Member Schools of Nursing and their Associate/Assistant dean guests.  No exceptions/ substitutions allowed.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the JW Marriott Washington DC, 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC 20004. The special conference room rate is $259 single/double. The cutoff date for reservations at the group rate is September 28, 2011. Reagan National Airport (DCA) is located approximately 15 minutes from the JW Marriott Washington DC and is metro accessible. The closest metro stop to the hotel is the Metro Center stop on the Red and Orange/Blue lines, 3 blocks from the JW Marriott Washington DC. The cost of a taxi from Regan to the hotel is approximately $22.00. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is 45 minutes from the hotel and a taxi costs approximately $65. Baltimore/Washington Airport (BWI) is one hour from the hotel and a taxi costs approximately $75. Super Shuttle is available for ground transportation from BWI (approximate cost is $37 each way), DCA (approximate cost is $14 each way), and IAD (approximate cost is $29 each way).

Continuing Education
Continuing Education contact hours will be provided by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing to all conference participants at no additional cost. CE certificates will be provided in your conference packet.

Conference Materials
AACN is dedicated to environmentally responsible practices. Select conference materials will be provided online. One week prior to the event, please look for an email with a link to the conference materials.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
Registrations that are canceled up to one week before the meeting will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received with less than one week’s notice will be refunded minus a $150 administrative fee. There will be no refunds for no-shows.

AACN reserves the right to cancel this conference and any group activity that does not meet minimal group requirements. Non-refundable airline tickets are the responsibility of the registrant.
