The annual Doctoral Education Conference continues to grow in attendance and influence. Designed for deans, associate deans for research, directors of doctoral programs, and other faculty interested in the issues concerning this unique level of nursing education, the program includes sessions of interest to all doctoral faculty, as well as breakout sessions that differentiate between concerns of research and practice doctoral programs. Plenary topics include implications of the IOM Future of Nursing report on doctoral education and research; and linking research and practice to advance nursing science. Breakout and abstract sessions allow participants to explore topics of personal interest. Throughout, participants are encouraged to share perspectives, ideas, concerns, and successful strategies. The Research Leadership Network offers a special afternoon session for Network members and guests. The Practice Leadership Network also meets during this conference.
