Join AACN for the 2012 Master’s Education Conference in San Antonio, Texas. Gain valuable information from program sessions covering vital issues in graduate nursing education. Enjoy the dining and entertainment offered by picturesque San Antonio as you network with colleagues from across the country.

The annual Master’s Education Conference encourages master’s faculty to explore topics and issues of mutual interest, especially during this period of transition to new program models and nursing roles. Plenary topics include using the new Master’s Essentials Toolkit; interprofessional education and practice; evaluating master’s programs; CCNE accreditation standards; and health policy and advocacy for master’s students. Concurrent sessions include the master’s in nursing education; collaborative models for offering the DNP degree; innovative approaches to distance education; and oral health education. Poster and abstract sessions allow participants to pursue topics of personal interest. Faculty and academic administrators alike are encouraged to join colleagues to address issues unique to the changing nature of master's education in nursing.

General Information

Hotel Information
A block of rooms has been reserved at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, 101 Bowie Street, San Antonio, Texas 78205. The room rate is $169 single/double. The cutoff date for room reservations at the group rate is February 7, 2012. For reservations, please call the hotel at 800-648-4462 and request the group rate for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) or Master’s Education Conference. The room block may fill before the deadline, so be sure to make your arrangements early.

The San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Transportation
The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is located 8 miles from the hotel. A taxi costs approximately $22 each way. Shuttles are available through Airport Express 210-281-9900/ http://www.saairportshuttle.com/ and are approximately $18 each way. Continuing Education Credit

Continuing Education Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. Provider No. 13380 for 9.0 contact hours. (CE Provider: City of Hope National Medical Center/Beckman Research Institute). No partial CEs given. You must attend entire program to receive CEs and ELNEC Trainer Certificate.

Conference Materials
AACN is dedicated to environmentally responsible practices. Select conference materials will be provided online. One week prior to the event, please look for an email with a link to the conference materials.

Refund and Cancellation Policy
Registrations that are cancelled up to one week before the meeting will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations received with less than one week’s notice will be refunded minus a $150 administrative fee. There will be no refunds for no-shows.

AACN reserves the right to cancel this conference and any group activity that does not meet minimal group requirements. Non-refundable airline tickets are the responsibility of the registrant.
