General Information

The Faculty Practice Pre-Conference is designed for those who promote, administer, and engage in faculty practice. The pre-conference format for this group was introduced in 2012, and the same program precedes both the Doctoral and Master’s Education Conferences. This event is in transition from the previous biennial Faculty Practice Conference to a new event to be determined and coordinated by the Practice Leadership Network. The pre-conference immediately precedes the Doctoral Education Conference, allowing educators to attend both events.

Hotel Information

The room block at the Hotel Del Coronado is now sold out. Alternative hotels are listed below. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hotel Del Coronado, 1500 Orange Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118. The special conference room rate starts at $209 single/double plus resort charge ($16). The cutoff date for reservations at the group rate is December 21, 2012. To make reservations, please call the hotel directly at (800) 468-3533 and request the group rate for American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) or Doctoral Education Conference. The room block may fill before the deadline, so please make your reservation early.

If Guest would like to upgrade to a Partial Ocean View Guestroom, the special rate of $229 per room, per night will apply; or for an Ocean Front Guestroom, the special rate of $259 per room, per night will apply – based on availability.

Contact hours will be awarded to those who attest to attendance at entire sessions and complete the electronic evaluation process.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by January 11, 2013. A refund of the conference, minus a $75 administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received by that date.

No refunds will be granted for requests received after January 11, 2013. Submit all requests to AACN Conference Registration via email at or via fax (202) 785-8320. Conference registrations are fully transferrable (see Substitution Policy); however, conference fees cannot be transferred to other conferences. AACN regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows.

AACN reserves the right to cancel this conference and any group activity that does not meet minimal group requirements. Non-refundable airline tickets are the responsibility of the registrant.

Substitution Policy

Registration substitutions are permitted prior to the conference; however, conference fees cannot be transferred to other conferences. Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution as well as updating any contact information.
