The annual Doctoral Education Conference, concerned exclusively with offering the nursing profession's terminal degree, welcomes deans, associate deans, doctoral program directors, directors of research, faculty, and doctoral students. Sessions address matters specific to doctoral education in nursing, including teaching strategies, program and student characteristics, and research requirements/funding. Participants are encouraged to share successful approaches and respond to the unique challenges affecting doctoral programs. Resort casual attire is recommended.
Join thought leaders from around the nation at AACN’s annual Doctoral Education Conference, held concurrently with the Faculty Practice Pre-Conference, the QSEN Pre-Conference Faculty Development Workshop, and the Research Leadership Network Meeting.
The annual Doctoral Education Conference brings together deans, associate deans for research, directors of doctoral programs, and other faculty to chart the future of doctoral nursing education.
Join your colleagues in Naples – the crown jewel of Southwest Florida - for an engaging program addressing issues and challenges specific to doctoral education:
- Re-envision the future of doctoral nursing education.
- Strengthen the links between nursing research and practice.
- Explore personal interests through breakout and concurrent sessions, breakfast gatherings, and abstract and poster presentations.
- Identify ways nurse clinicians and nurse scientists can work together to improve patient outcomes.
The Faculty Practice Pre-Conference is designed for those who promote, administer, and engage in faculty practice. The same pre-conference precedes both the Doctoral and Master’s Education Conferences and is coordinated by the Practice Leadership Network (PLN). Topics this year include sustainability, successful faculty practice, federal issues, and the scholarship of practice. The PLN will also meet during a breakfast session at the Doctoral Education Conference.
The goal of the QSEN Pre-Conference Faculty Development Workshop is to prepare faculty from graduate nursing programs to teach their colleagues about the mechanisms used to prepare nursing professionals for high quality and safe practice, via a train-the-trainer approach.
The Research Leadership Network (RLN) is comprised of nursing faculty who have leadership roles facilitating research within their nursing programs. This year’s RLN Meeting will focus on developing and facilitating interdisciplinary research collaboration, followed by stimulating discussions on issues most relevant to research faculty today.
