Call for Research Applications: NCIN Studying the Impact

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Careers in Nursing (NCIN) program seeks researchers to study the impact this groundbreaking program has on changing the face of nursing. Over the eight years of operation a large data set including more than 3,500 scholars from 130 schools of nursing in 41 states was created on “Building a More Diverse and Inclusive Nursing Workforce”. Up to four grants will be awarded to individuals in the amount of $3,000 each for analysis and development of a manuscript.

AACN Commends Senators for Introducing Legislation to Support the Nursing Workforce

AACN applauds Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) for introducing the Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act of 2016. This legislation would reauthorize the Nursing Workforce Development Programs through Fiscal Year 2021.

The Arnold P. Gold Foundation Renews Commitment to Funding White Coat Ceremonies at AACN Member Schools of Nursing

In celebration of National Nurses Week, The Arnold P. Gold Foundation (APGF) and AACN are pleased to announce that new funding is available to nursing schools interested in initiating a White Coat Ceremony in Fall 2016. Developed to champion scientifically-sound, compassionate care, the Gold-AACN White Coat Ceremony for Nursing is held at the beginning of an academic year to promote the importance of humanistic, patient-centered care to new nursing students. To date, the partnering organizations have provided funding and technical support to introduce White Coat Ceremonies at 160 nursing schools nationwide.
