Funding Opportunity for White Coat Ceremonies

This year, AACN will identify 50 schools interested in hosting a Gold-AACN White Coat Ceremony for new nursing students in Fall 2017. Participating schools will receive $1,000 in financial support to host a ceremony, which typically features the recitation of an oath, receipt of a commemorative pin, an address by an eminent role model, and a reception for students and invited guests.

New Grant Funding Opportunity for Graduate Students

The NIDA Blending Initiative: Moving Science from Research to Practice will award up to $10,000 for a project grant from a graduate student (Master’s, Doctoral, or Post-Doctoral) from an accredited program at an AACN member school. This grant is intended to support projects that contribute to a student’s knowledge of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and advance research, dissemination, and adoption of evidence- based SUD treatment. The award will be disbursed in three equal payments after receipt and acceptance of the required progress reports. Proposals are due February 24, 2017. Awards will be announced on March, 10, 2017.

2017 Minority Nurse Faculty Scholarship Application is Now Open!

The 2017 application for the Johnson & Johnson Minority Nurse Faculty Scholarship is open to full-time students in doctoral and master’s programs who will serve as nurse faculty after completing their degree programs. Scholarship recipients are selected by an application review committee and are awarded $18,000 which is disbursed in the fall. Winners are required to attend AACN’s Faculty Development Conference, which is held in November 2017 and meet regularly with a mentor.

Award Winners Announced for the Innovation in Baccalaureate and Graduate Population Health Curriculum

AACN and CDC are pleased to announce the winners of the Innovation in Baccalaureate and Graduate Population Health Curriculum Awards. These awards recognize Schools of Nursing for their outstanding curriculum that increases or enhances the population/public health content in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs as an essential part of nursing education.
