AACN Government Affairs Internship

Program Description
The AACN Government Affairs Internship, based in our Washington, DC offices, is offered to students in nursing, political science, public policy, or other related disciplines, with an interest in nursing and/or health policy. The internship provides the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in policy process. Students are asked to commit 10-15 hours a week. This internship is unpaid; however, AACN is willing to participate in any credit-granting procedure with the student's university.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a strong interest in and commitment to advancing health and nursing related policy. Previous coursework and/or experience in government, political activities, and familiarity with current issues in nursing and health policy are desirable.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae or resumé, with a cover letter detailing their interest in the work of AACN’s government affairs department, and contact information for two references. Please be sure to indicate in your cover letter your preferred start date.
