AACN's Nominating Committee has issued a Call for Nominations for candidates to fill five Board seats and two vacancies on the Nominating Committee. Chaired by Judy Beal from Simmons College, the committee will choose the slate of candidates at the 2008 Fall Semiannual Meeting based on nominations and the committee's deliberations. The positions under consideration are:
- Treasurer
- Board Member-at-Large (4 vacancies)
- Nominating Committee (2 vacancies)
Those submitting a nomination must complete three forms: a Nomination Form, Consent Statement Form, and Nominations Biographical Data Form.
- Nomination Form– The Nomination Form is to be completed by the nominator stating his/her reason for the candidate's suitability for the position. Self nominations will be accepted.
- Consent Statement – The Consent Statement is to be completed by the nominee stating his/her consent to serve if chosen to the position. Please note that Board members are expected to attend four Board meetings each year. The dates for these meetings are highlighted on the consent statement.
- Biographical Data Form - This one-page biosketch will be distributed to the membership in the electronic mail ballot, should you be chosen as a candidate. This form may be submitted via e-mail attachment to AACN (send to jahearn@aacn.nche.edu). Space allotted to each category may be modified however please limit to one page. Candidates are also requested to submit their full curriculum vitae.
Completed forms should be returned to AACN as soon as possible. However, the three forms will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on October 18, 2008 at the registration desk during the Fall Semiannual Meeting. The slate of candidates will be presented during the Business Meeting at the Fall Meeting.
