2012-2013 AACN Faculty Teaching Awards – Call for Nominations
AACN is pleased to announce four Faculty Teaching Awards for the 2012-2013 academic year. The AACN Novice Faculty Teaching Awards are two awards for faculty who have been in the role for five years or less. The purpose of the awards is to recognize excellence and innovation in the teaching of nursing by novice faculty at AACN member schools. The Novice Faculty Excellence in Didactic Teaching Award will be presented to faculty demonstrating excellence and innovation teaching in classroom or online settings, while the Novice Faculty Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award will recognize outstanding faculty in clinical settings.
The additional awards are for more experienced faculty with more than five years of experience in the faculty role. The AACN Excellence and Innovation in Teaching Award recognizes leaders who implement groundbreaking teaching approaches at AACN member schools. The AACN Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Excellence Award recognizes a faculty member who systematically investigates questions related to student learning and the conditions under which it occurs in order to improve outcomes.
The deadline for submission of nomination application packets is Monday, June 1, 2013. Winners will be announced at the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester, and awards will be issued during the Fall 2013 semester. Winners will choose one AACN conference that they would like to attend during the 2012-2013 academic year - the registration fee for that conference will be waived! Winners will also be spotlighted on AACN's website and receive an engraved award commemorating their achievement. In addition, the winner of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Excellence Award will be provided the opportunity to present a webinar related to their body of research.
