Advocacy is vital to the nursing profession as we serve as patient advocates on a daily basis. Nursing’s skills as an advocate can also be translated to strategies that will make an impact at the macro level and impact not one patient at a time, but thousands. As our country looks to reform the healthcare system and budgets, both state and federal, are being deeply cut due to the financial climate, now is the time that critical policy decisions are being made. It is more important than ever for nursing’s expertise be voiced and heard by our nation’s legislators through advocacy. This webinar will highlight the importance of advocacy and examine ways nursing students, faculty, and registered nurses can become involved to impact positive change.
