This provocative panel presentation will feature faculty from the University of Maryland Schools of Nursing, Social Work and Pharmacy discussing how they collaborated to develop a unique multi-year inter-professional educational initiative on breast cancer. This successful collaboration may serve as a model for future inter-professional activities.
1. Describe the evolution of the Komen Partnership from a single professional activity to an interprofessional educational collaboration.
2. Analyze the creation and modification of a web-based educational program reflecting the unique but complimentary roles of each health care profession.
3. Appraise the opportunities and challenges created by the partnership.
4. Highlight future collaborative activities that can directly reflect care of people with or at risk for breast cancer.
