This interactive Webinar is directed toward junior investigators who want to improve their grant writing skills and successes. Topics will include strategies for: (a) targeting and writing the next proposal, (b) selecting expert research mentors, and (c) balancing workload.
Kathie Records, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor
Dr. Records is a Professor and the Hubert C. Moog Endowed Professor at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Her prior appointments include tenured positions at Arizona State University and Washington State University. Her research focuses on the childbearing health of women and their newborns, considering the influence of experiences such as abuse, obesity, and depression and how these may affect outcomes for the woman and her child across the first year of life. She has been funded by the National Institutes of Health as a Principal Investigator for an Academic Research Enhancement Award, as a Co-Investigator on an R01 Intervention, and with numerous foundation and internal funding awards. Her research findings have been presented nationally and internationally and disseminated in more than 60 publications. She was inducted as a Fellow in to the American Academy of Nursing in 2012. She currently services on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing and on study sections for the National Institutes of Health. She has received regional and national awards for her research and mentoring activities for junior faculty and students. She has participated in reviewing grants as a member of study sections for the National Institutes of Health.
