Hilda Mejia Abreu, PhD, Executive Director of Program Partnerships, Liaison International
Hilda Mejia Abreu grew up in the Dominican Republic. After High School, she attended University of Massachusetts at Boston. At University of Massachusetts, she completed a Baccalaureate Degree in Social Sciences and a minor in Latin American Studies. In 1992, Hilda received a master degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the same school. While at University of Massachusetts, Ms. Abreu worked as assistant director of Financial Aid, Student Employment Coordinator, and admissions counselor. Currently, Hilda Mejia Abreu completed her PhD in 2013 at Michigan State University Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Learning program. Her research focus is related to veterinary school admissions and use of non-cognitive components in the selection of medical students. In 1993, Hilda Mejia Abreu started her tenure at Michigan State University with the Office of Career Services. After a year in Career Services, Ms. Mejia Abreu joined the College of Veterinary Medicine as the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Services Coordinator. In this role, she works with faculty and administrators admitting new veterinary medical students and providing support services to enrolled medical students. In 2009, Hilda joined the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center as the Associate Dean for Admissions and Student Services.
