Ryan Patton is a clinical nurse and a former winner of the Khan Academy competition. Let Ryan show you the tips and tricks he's been using to make his videos/questions simply amazing! This webinar will review some of the key fundamentals in content creation, and will get into the nuts and bolts of best practices. Rishi Desai, MD, Medical Educator, Khan Academy
Rishi Desai is currently a medical educator at the Khan Academy, a free online, not-for-profit, educational platform. His goal is to generate free, high-quality health and medical education content available to anyone, anywhere. In his early years, Dr. Desai had an accelerated education, completing high school and receiving his BS in Microbiology from UCLA by the age of 18. He completed his medical training at UCSF and went on to work at prestigious medical centers including those affiliated with Harvard University, Boston University, University of Southern California, and Stanford University. He returned to UCLA to earn his MPH in epidemiology, and then spent two years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer investigating disease outbreaks. Dr. Desai now leads Khan Academy Medicine, where he brings his expertise in pediatric infectious diseases and public health to the Academy's ~10 million unique users per month.

Ryan Patton graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. For two years, he worked in a local intensive care unit as an RN. During this time, while taking additional college science classes, Ryan began to use the Khan Academy to strengthen his understanding of science and math concepts. After a year of using Khan Academy extensively, he began making similar “black board” style videos to tutor friends in organic chemistry. His interest in the Khan Academy culminated in a submission for the MCAT 2015 competition and subsequent selection as a tutorial content creator. He now spends his time creating MCAT videos and teaching critical care clinical for the University of Arkansas’ nursing program.
